Supporting young people, adult volunteers and youth groups during the pandemic
Upskill in lockdown
Although we find ourselves in another nationwide lockdown, there are many opportunities available from CVQO to take advantage of the situation and gain some new skills.
We have adapted some of our most popular qualifications for online study to ensure that they can be accessed and completed by anyone, anywhere at anytime.
These are briefly listed on this page and in our downloadable lockdown support pack, but if you are interested in speaking to us to see what is available immediately to you or your youth/cadet group, please fill in the short form at the bottom of this page and we will get back to you quickly.
Please remember we are here to support you and will do everything we can to help meet your learning goals this year.
Opportunities for young people
ILM Level 2 in Effective Team Member Skills (14-16 year olds)
Our ILM Level 2 Award in Effective Team Member Skills qualification is aimed at 14-16 year olds who form part of a team at their school, cadet force or youth organisation. This is an ideal qualification for those who are waiting to progress with the ILM Level 2 for Young Leaders. Please note this must be delivered to groups of learners, not individuals.
BTEC Level 2 in Teamwork and Personal Development in the Community or Music for Practical Performance (16-18 year olds)
Though we would normally deliver this qualification face-to-face, the whole programme has been fully adapted for online study. Learners can enrol online, work through the content using electronic workbooks and take part in comprehensive Zoom tutorials.
Enrolments for this qualification are open now – click here for more info.
Employability Skills Workshop webinars (16-18 year olds)
Exclusively for CVQO learners, over 300 young people took part in one of these online workshops last year and we anticipate a big demand in 2021. During this 2 hour workshop, we provide practical advice on job seeking, CV writing and what employers are looking for. If you are interested in a dedicated workshop for your cadet unit or youth group, please let us know.
Opportunities for adults
BTEC Level 3 Award in Education & Training (age 19+)
This qualification is ideal for adult volunteers in the cadet forces to recognise and build on the skills they already demonstrate in their roles. It is a foundation teacher training qualification and can be undertaken entirely online.
City & Guilds Professional Recognition Awards (age 19+)
Our City & Guilds Professional Recognition Awards are available in four different levels. They are a brilliant way to demonstrate your experience and many of our learners have used their qualifications to secure employment, a promotion or a career switch. As with all of the above, these can be studied and completed online.
