Laura Panter – BTEC Level 2 in Teamwork and Personal Development

Laura Panter
Leicestershire, Northampton and Rutland ACF

“I signed up for the CVQO BTEC Level 2 qualification during annual camp 2019. I knew I would be leaving the Army Cadet Force the following year due to ageing out and so thought I would try to take advantage of as many opportunities as I could before I left.

“I was already completing my A Level studies from home so had started to get accustomed to working independently. I enjoyed working on the booklets for the qualification because they were interesting and also offered a good contrast to my A Level work.

“I wish to join the Police Force through their degree apprenticeship scheme, which is very competitive. The CVQO BTEC Level 2 qualification will be very important when putting my application together and will help me to stand out.

“I felt a real sense of accomplishment when I finished the course because it was nice to do something productive and independent during lockdown that will benefit me in the future.

“I am so grateful to the Army Cadet Force and CVQO for providing me with this opportunity, even after I had left – it was a lovely way to finish my experience with the cadets.”
