After gaining the CVQO-led BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Teamwork and Personal Development in the Community, I applied for a role as an apprentice architect, something I have always dreamt of.
There are not many things that help an individual stand out in a workplace environment at my age in terms of qualifications, but this certainly made a lasting impression on the company.
Although the qualification was not what got me in the door, it was the one that kept me there, due to the style of vocational-led learning, dedicating to study in my own time, showing I was willing to go out and achieve something different to others my age.
It also allowed me the opportunity to talk about the Army Cadet Force and what I had accomplished there (Senior Cadet Instructor, 4 Star complete, Duke of Edinburgh Award Bronze and Silver, participating in Sports and Adventurous Activities.)
I am forever thankful for the knowledge that I have gained through CVQO, and the people who helped me gain the qualification. Unlike other courses and qualifications this is one that will stick with me for life.
