Olga Bottomley was educated at St Thomas More RC Secondary School and Mackworth College, Derby where she achieved a BTEC Business qualification. In 1984 she joined Hazlewood Foods as a trainee and within 8 years established a successful management career within the manufacturing sector learning all aspects of the business.
In 1992 she decided to have a change of career and moved into the education and training world. She has spent 20 years working within the secondary education sector specialising in vocational training. As a qualified Trainer and Quality Assurance Expert she has become a technician within her field. She is the Managing Director of her own quality assurance and auditing company Straight4ward Solutions which she set up 3 years ago.
She is one of the Quality Mentors supporting the Army’s 30 million apprenticeship programme, supporting the Royal Engineeers, REME and Defence Food School Services. At the end of 2009 Olga has been appointed the QM for the Army Education Centres. She is a qualified Business Advisor supporting Business Links and other government broker agencies in raising their quality standards. She is a member of the Institute of Directors and the Assessor and Verifier Association, SFEDI, Chairperson of the Burnaston Village Neighbourhood Watch and a member of the North West Communities Crime Reduction Group. Her hobbies include skiing and travelling.
