Neil Fairbrother

Neil hails from Plymouth, and was raised in a service family. He gained a BSc Honours undergraduate degree in Sports Science at Southampton University. He put the skills that he learnt during his degree to good use by working in the leisure industry managing leisure centres until 2009.

Neil then began a career in education and qualified as a teacher in 2011. He has extensive experience as a subject knowledge expert delivering PE and BTEC L1-L3 qualifications not just in Sport, but also Uniformed Public Services and Protective Services. He is a firm believer in educational pedagogies and evidence informed teaching, and endeavours to put these ideologies into action in order to provide high quality engaging teaching and learning experiences.

Neil left teaching in 2019 and joined CVQO as the ILM Curriculum Manager following his keen interest in leadership. He keeps his subject knowledge up to date by being a member of the Institute of the Leadership and Management.

Neil understands the importance of physical, mental and social health and fitness so he regularly attends the gym. He enjoys participating in and watching all sports, but particularly rugby and football.
