Martin Salter

Martin’s background is in teaching, having spent twenty-seven years in a number of different roles in a variety of secondary schools across the country. Although he started out as a Music teacher, his career eventually took him into management, as first an Assistant Headteacher and finally to the role of sole Deputy Headteacher of a large comprehensive school. He has also had many years’ experience working as a Team Leader Moderator for OCR GCSE Music.

Martin’s first involvement with CVQO was in 2018, when he started as a Team Leader Mentor and Assessor for the City and Guilds Professional Recognition Awards. This in turn led to his appointment in December 2020 as Curriculum Manager for the City and Guilds PRAs.

Over the last few years Martin has taken on the role of organist at his local Parish Church, and has also been a Churchwarden since 2015.
