CVQO is proud to be supporting the Worshipful Company of Educators’ Military Education Lecture, taking place on the evening of Friday 13 May at HMS President in London.
The lecture will present the key findings of a research project commissioned by the Ministry of Defense into the social impact and return on investment of expenditure on the Cadet Forces of the UK. Professor Simon Denny, who led the team from the University of Northampton that carried out this project between 2016 and 2020, will highlight the importance of the Cadet Forces to the development of both young people and adult volunteers. The role of the Cadets in tackling social disadvantage will be discussed.
Excitingly, Apple-Jane Hayward, a 2021 CVQO Westminster Award finalist will also present at the event.
By the kind permission of the Royal Navy and the Sea Cadets, guests will have the opportunity to tour the Training Ship Royalist during the reception, which will be alongside HMS President.
Tea and coffee will be served at 18:15 with the event beginning at 18:45. A drinks reception will then run from 19:30 – 21:00. The dress code is lounge suits with badges and decorations.
