Today we announced the 20 CVQO Westminster Award finalists who have reached the expedition stage of this year’s competition. This is a combination of our 2020 and 2021 finalists and means, for the first time, we will be running a combined expedition in late July.
We have spent a lot of time planning what we are confident will be a memorable, exciting experience in Cornwall this summer. We will be working with local charities, schools and a worldwide humanitarian aid organisation on a varied programme of activities.
The theme of our expedition is ‘Think global, act local’. The activities we take part in will encourage our finalists to approach problem-solving with a global perspective, being aware of the impact this can have on our communities on a local level.
Oh, and of course there will be plenty of “fun stuff”, too!
This year we are also doing things a little differently when it comes to the House of Lords lunch. This will take place on Thursday 16 September, where two winners (one for 2020 and one for 2021) will be crowned.
As with everything, we are fully aware that all of our plans are subject to government guidance and we will approach everything in a responsible, COVID-secure way.
Well done to everyone selected and watch this space for more information.
