Last weekend we held our first-ever VQO (Vocational Qualifications Officer) Conference for Army Cadet Force and Combined Cadet Force (Army) volunteers at Frimley Park Cadet Training Centre.
This pilot conference was extremely well attended and saw Cadet Force Adult Volunteers from across the UK gather in Surrey to hear the latest on CVQO’s qualifications for cadets and youth groups.
- 2019 CVQO Westminster Award winner Ruta Dubinskaite discussing her Army Cadet Force journey and how much she values the opportunities and qualifications gained from CVQO
- Professor Simon Denny from Northampton University delivering an in-depth look at vocational training and its social impact in the cadet forces
- First-hand perspectives from Lt Thor Elsson, Lt Elizabeth Pincombe and Col Ashley Fulford looking at how vocational qualifications have helped them and their cadets
ACF Colonel Cadets Clinton Riley said: “It was fantastic to welcome VQOs from across the ACF and CCF (Army) to Frimley Park this weekend for CVQO’s first VQO Conference.
“There is such a breadth of development opportunities available to young people in the Cadet Forces, so to be able to bring many adult volunteers up to speed with the very latest and gain their input and feedback was invaluable.”
We hope to run similar conferences for our partners and friends in other Cadet Forces and youth organisations in the near future, so keep an eye on CVQO’s social media channels for the very latest news.
