Cambridgeshire VQO Captain Liz Hyslop recently received the Lord Lieutenant’s Certificate of Meritorious Service in appreciation of her hard work and dedication to Cambridgeshire ACF.
Liz has been the County CVQO Officer for the last 3 years. This year alone, 183 certificates for CVQO qualifications have been achieved through Cambridgeshire ACF, making it one of the best-performing counties in the UK.
Liz received her certificate from HM Lord Lieutenant Mrs Julie Spence OBE QPM DL at a special awards evening celebrating outstanding cadets and adults in the county.
Liz’s performance as CVQO Officer has been instrumental in enabling so many cadets and instructors to gain worthwhile qualifications. She regularly promotes CVQO opportunities at the county Cadet Training Centre at weekends, and also visits detachments during their training evenings.
Capt Hyslop has held many other roles during her 18 years volunteering with Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force, as well as working full time as an Administrative Officer at Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force Headquarters
Geoff Hammond, CEO of Cambridgeshire ACF said: “Capt Hyslop’s high levels of instruction and leadership have produced well-trained cadets in a variety of subjects. She always brings enthusiasm and firm leadership to her tasks.”
He added: “Her loyalty and dedication to the ACF organisation as a whole is an example for all to follow.”
Liz retires from ACF uniform service in November 2019 but plans to remain as a civilian volunteer.
